The BMW Motorrad has launched the K 1600 series of motorcycles. It has three variants: K 1600 B, K 1600 Grand America and K 1600 GTL. All three variants share the same feature except for a few dimensional changes. The BMW Motorrad K 1600 series gets a 1649cc, oil-water-cooled, six-cylinder, four-stroke engine. It produces a maximum power of 160HP @ 6,750rpm and a peak torque of 180Nm @ 5,250rpm. This engine mates with a 6-speed, helical gearbox.
The power transmission of this motorcycle consists of a multiple-disc clutch in the oil bath and shaft drive. This motorcycle series has built-in highlights and a large 10.25-inch TFT colour display. This large, easy-to-read screen with HD resolution is an instrument cluster and an onboard computer. It also gets a new front with LED headlights, double-tone fanfare, dynamic traction control, engine brake control, hill start control, heating grips, and side cases.
The K 1600 Grand America and GTL models get audio system 2.0 with DAB+, SAT-radio and sound profiles. In addition to adaptive headlights and ACC, this bike has other comfort-enhancing features such as pro riding modes, seat heating and four configurable favourite button clusters. Lastly, it comes with a bridge-type frame, BMW Motorrad Duolever central spring front suspension and a cast aluminium single-sided swing arm with BMW Motorrad Paralever as rear suspension.
Coming to the braking system, twin disc brake at the front and single disc brake at the rear do a great job with the braking duties.
