BMW R 18 CLASSIC OVERVIEW & PRICE
The BMW R18 Classic is the only cruiser portfolio of BMW Motorrad. The company had already started giving us bike captions in different ways for months before launching the final production model. And all the wait was worth it as the repetition of production is not very different from the concept, and it just looks good. The R18 Classic design got inspiration from the 1936 BMW R5 cruiser and looks to be a must-have. Playing in classic style, the motorcycle includes a round headlamp, a metal pod for a single pod, a peanut-shaped petrol tank, and a cut-out rear fender.
Most notable is the design of the R18 pipeline-like pipes that come out of a punching machine. The wide, rear-facing handle, curved seat, and slightly fitted foot cuffs indicate that it intends to provide comfortable ergonomics. Empowering the motorcycle is a 1,802cc large, air-cooled-and-oil-powered engine, a boxer-twin motor, and the most significant BMW twin boxer car ever ridden on a production bike. It kicks out 91 bhp of power at 4,750rpm and 158Nm at 3,000rpm.
Most of that work delivers to the low end, between 2,000-4,000rpm, which should make it fun to ride in the city and on the highway. The engine comes with a six-speed gearbox. The R18 Classic is a standard BMW. When it comes to things, it gets a lot of them. The list includes heated grips, full-LED headlights, corner headlights, reversing gear, hill-start assists, switchable automatic stability control, drag torque controller, and three rides – Rain, Rock, and Roll. On the contrary, it is fundamental in parts of the cycle.
The R18 stops with telescopic forks and a cantilever strut with damping and spring preload loads. Braking is handled with two front discs and one rear disc measuring 300mm each. BMW has introduced R18 for all three models in India, similar to international markets. It comes with Standard, First Edition, and Classic trim, and the difference in this is very noticeable. The R18 bike weighs 345 kg and has a 16-litre fuel tank. The current ex-showroom BMW R 18 Classic price is ₹ 24,00,000.
